About Us

9th Street Antiques started in the spring of 1990 doing local and out-of-state antique shows. We were then and continue now to specialize in turn-of-the-century furniture, with additional inventory in lighting, glassware, china, and many other collectibles. We grew substantially as years went by, from a 1,000 square foot store on Milwaukee's south side, to a 5,000 square foot refinishing business in Wind Lake, Wisconsin, while running a 3,500 square foot store on South 1st Street (called 1st Street Antiques).

In 1998, we purchased a 20,000 square foot building for refinishing and storage and "appointment only" sales on South 5th Street in Milwaukee. That building, unfortunately, burned to the ground on February 14, 2001. We were lucky no one was injured, but the building and our entire inventory was a total loss. It took 110 firefighters and multiple fire trucks to control the 10-1/2 hour blaze. Although devastated, we picked up the pieces and moved on again.

Through hard work and determination, we started from scratch and bought and fully restored what is now home to 9th Street Antiques at 602 South 9th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our building is 2 blocks north of 9th Street and National Avenue, and is in the heart of the "Walker's Point" area which is an up-and-coming location on the near south side. The building houses a huge showroom full of high-end furniture, lighting, clocks and architectural pieces. We welcome rare consignments, and ample parking is always available.
